Load &Lock Process Column

Agilent's Load & Lock™ process column, designed for pilot-scale or industrial preparative chromatography applications, combines precision, performance and ease of use. Featuring an integrated hydraulic system, it allows dynamic or static axial conditioning, ensuring uniform sample distribution. Its mobile stainless steel frame facilitates positioning, while its 90° tilt mechanism simplifies unloading. Available in several diameters (up to 24 inches), the Load & Lock column offers 25% higher load capacity than conventional DAC columns, optimising yields while reducing costs.

Description

Load & Lock™ column: reliable performance for large-scale purification

Agilent's Load & Lock™ column is designed to meet the most stringent requirements for preparative purification and industrial-scale processes. Available in diameters ranging from 10 cm to 60 cm, this column fits easily into production environments thanks to its mobile and compact design. Its hydraulic compression system allows operation in dynamic axial mode (DAC) or static mode (SAC), ensuring uniform compression of the gel bed for optimal separation.

Its architecture is based on more than 25 years of expertise in low, medium and high pressure chromatography. Thanks to a flow distribution system, the column allows for homogeneous sample distribution, thereby increasing productivity and reproducibility of results. The integrated 90-degree tilt mechanism facilitates media removal and greatly simplifies cleaning and maintenance operations, minimising exposure to solvents or potentially sensitive materials.

The frame is made of 304 stainless steel, while all parts in contact with the product are made of 316L steel, PEEK, TFE, EPDM or polypropylene, with a 20RA or better electropolished finish. For thermally sensitive separations, optional water jackets can be added to regulate the column temperature.

This system allows for a 25% higher loading capacity than most DAC columns on the market, resulting in reduced processing time or the use of smaller diameter columns for the same volume. This performance optimisation contributes to significantly lower production costs and greater flexibility for operators.

The Load & Lock™ is available in standard versions up to 24 inches internal diameter, with customisable configurations. Whether for pilot laboratories or production facilities, this column is a robust, high-performance solution that is easy to integrate into existing production lines.
