Accurate and fast fluorescence cell analysis: LUNA-FL™ from Logos
Logos' LUNA-FL™ is an automated cell counter that combines fluorescence microscopy capabilities with integrated image analysis software. This compact, stand-alone device is designed to enable reliable and reproducible counting of any cell type, even the most complex to quantify, such as primary cells, stem cells, PBMCs or splenocytes. Where conventional counters fail to distinguish cells from cell debris, the LUNA-FL™ overcomes this limitation with its dual fluorescence optics and software analysis capabilities. By staining live and dead cells with fluorescent markers (green/red), it provides clear, visually verifiable results in seconds.
It also includes a bright field counting mode using trypan blue for users who wish to perform analyses without fluorescence. This dual capability makes the LUNA-FL™ particularly adaptable to laboratory needs. Its interactive graphical user interface and touchscreen make it easy to analyse and visualise results, with images displayed directly and superimposable (bright field, green and red fluorescence). Users can individually adjust the brightness of each channel and export results as PDF or CSV files via a USB stick.
Cells can be selected according to their size using the "gating" function, which allows specific populations to be included or excluded by histogram. Up to 1,000 counting sessions can be archived directly on the device, ensuring optimal traceability. Compatible with many validated cell types, ranging from human to animal cells, it covers a wide range of sizes and concentrations.
The LUNA-FL™ also inherits the accuracy of the original LUNA™ for bright field counting, while adding the benefits of fluorescence counting. It is compatible with reusable or single-use slides and offers an excellent compromise between accuracy, speed and economy, while eliminating cleaning constraints.
