Its advanced optical technology is based on fibre-optic sensors inserted into intravascular catheters. The module emits light at different wavelengths through an optical fibre, measures the absorption of light by oxygenated and deoxygenated haemoglobin, and calculates oxygen saturation in real time . This data is crucial for assessing the balance between oxygen supply and consumption at the cellular level, particularly in critical conditions such as septic shock, multiple organ failure or major surgery.
