AMULET S, a mammography machine that combines performance with patient comfort

The AMULET S is equipped with a direct-conversion X-ray sensor, which offers exceptional conversion efficiency, guaranteeing optimum performance in terms of image signal capture and processing. The AMULET S panel is composed of a double layer of amorphous selenium (a-Se), a material renowned for its superior X-ray detection properties. Fujifilm's proprietary Direct Optical Switching technology further enhances the sensor's capabilities by extracting image signals directly, without the need for thin-film transistors (TFTs). This approach not only minimizes noise, but also achieves a remarkable pixel size of just 50 µm, facilitating higher-resolution imaging and shorter exposure intervals. The result is a series of high-definition images that enhance diagnostic accuracy.

The AMULET S is designed to provide radiographers with the tools they need to carry out examinations with ease and precision. The system delivers high-definition images with high detection quantum efficiency (DQE), guaranteeing superior image quality even at lower radiation doses. This not only enhances patient safety, but also enables radiographers to achieve optimum results with minimal exposure.

AMULET S features image analysis algorithms and gradation curve processing, further enhancing visualization of the entire breast. By recognizing and analyzing individual regions such as the pectoralis major muscle, dense mammary gland tissue and skin line, the system guarantees improved detail across the entire image, providing radiologists with important diagnostic information.

With its one-touch function, the swivel arm is automatically positioned at the desired angle between exposures. This feature speeds up examinations, enabling radiographers to concentrate more on patient care. What's more, once examinations are complete, the unit automatically returns to the upright position, optimizing workflow efficiency.

To ensure patient comfort, AMULET S offers balanced, gentle support throughout the examination process. Foam cushions for the chest wall and armpits are available.

The AMULET S meets the diverse needs of patients with a full range of compression plates, including those optimized for small breasts. These specialized compression plates facilitate more precise positioning, ensuring optimal image quality and diagnostic accuracy. In addition, collimation and image size are automatically set to 18×24 cm or 24×30 cm, as required, allowing flexibility and customization to meet the specific requirements of each examination.

The FUJIFILM digital mammography CAD system is a powerful tool designed to provide valuable detection support for breast cancer screening. Based on proprietary algorithms, this CAD system helps identify areas in breast images that may indicate the presence of cancer. By improving the diagnostic process, it contributes to early detection and improved patient outcomes in mammography.
