MaxField® 35D – Diagnostic Lens for Indirect Ophthalmoscopy
The MaxField® 35D lens from Ocular is specifically designed for healthcare professionals performing indirect ophthalmoscopy as part of a thorough retinal diagnosis. This model is intended for use with an indirect binocular ophthalmoscope (BIO), allowing for a wide and accurate view of the retinal periphery. With an image magnification factor of 1.71x and a laser spot reduction of 0.58x, the MaxField® 35D lens provides an ideal balance between visual detail and spatial coverage of the fundus.
The device is based on a high-transmission glass design, optimising image clarity and brightness. This is particularly important for reliably detecting early signs of retinal pathologies such as peripheral tears, haemorrhages or vascular abnormalities. The 74° static field of view, coupled with a clear aperture diameter of 34 mm, provides a clear and comfortable view for the practitioner, while minimising unwanted reflections when used with reduced lighting.
The unidirectional design of the lens – with the silver tip facing the patient's eye – allows for quick focusing and optimal stability during the examination. This specific positioning helps improve image sharpness while facilitating alignment with the patient's pupil, a fundamental criterion in indirect practices.
Weighing just 32 grams and with an ideal working distance of 17 mm from the cornea, the MaxField® 35D lens is perfectly suited for prolonged use without discomfort for the practitioner. It is also compatible with recognised disinfection techniques, such as glutaraldehyde or low-temperature systems such as STERRAD, ensuring rigorous hygiene in medical environments.
This model is part of a professional range recognised by ophthalmology specialists for its clinical reliability and stable performance. It is primarily intended for practitioners who want optimal visual control during retinal peripheral examinations, while maintaining a high level of comfort and safety.
