MB3000 FT-IR analyser

The ABB MB3000 is a compact, robust and maintenance-free laboratory FT-IR analyser designed to provide reliable, accurate and reproducible results over the long term. With its permanently aligned optical system, patented interferometer mechanism and modular architecture, it meets the rigorous requirements of laboratories in research, quality control and industrial development. Combined with the Horizon MB™ software suite, it offers exceptional flexibility for a wide variety of analyses. Its small footprint, lack of consumables and long-life source make it an optimal investment for spectroscopic analysis in the laboratory.

Description

ABB MB3000 – Reliable, maintenance-free FT-IR analyser for the modern laboratory

The ABB MB3000 is a Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) analyser designed to meet the demands of the most demanding research, development and quality control environments. Building on a tradition of more than 40 years in spectroscopy, it has been developed with a focus on robustness, reliability and ease of use, drawing on the experience gained with its predecessor, the FTLA2000.

The MB3000 is an ideal solution for laboratories looking for consistent results, low maintenance and long life. Built around a permanently aligned optical system with no critical moving parts, it guarantees outstanding measurement stability without the need for adjustment over time. Its patented dual-pivot interferometer ensures reproducible, wear-free scanning with a lifetime mechanical guarantee. This design not only ensures increased accuracy, but also significantly reduces operating costs.

Another major advantage of the MB3000 is its compact, space-saving design . Thanks to its vertical architecture, it fits easily into any laboratory while allowing quick access to internal components. It contains no consumables that need to be replaced: the laser is a semiconductor model, the optics are non-hygroscopic, and no purging is required for their protection. The electronically stabilised ceramic infrared source is designed to operate for more than ten years.

The MB3000's versatility is also reflected in its compatibility with a wide range of accessories. Its open, dry sample compartment allows for easy integration of ABB or third-party devices without the need for realignment. Whether analysing solids, liquids, gels, pastes or gases, the MB3000 can be adapted to almost any situation thanks to multiple sampling options, including universal ATR (MIRacle™), removable liquid cells, DRIFT accessories, specular reflectance, gas cells and microscopy modules.

The MB3000 is complemented by the Horizon MB™ software suite, which offers specialised modules to meet a variety of analytical needs: quantification, spectral library, automated IR interpretation, real-time chemical reaction monitoring, regulatory compliance, custom scripts and 21 CFR Part 11 security management. The software is designed to be intuitive, optimising laboratory productivity.

Built to last, easy to use, and offering exceptional spectroscopic performance, the MB3000 is the perfect choice for demanding laboratories seeking to combine advanced technology with operational simplicity. It sets the standard for reliability in modern FT-IR analysis.
