Lauda MC 250 circulation chiller – Compact and precise cooling for demanding applications
The Lauda MC 250 is a compact, high-performance circulation cooler specially designed for laboratory or industrial applications requiring reliable thermal management. With its bench-top design and cooling capacity of 250 W at 20 °C, it is the ideal solution for installations where space is limited, without compromising on performance.
This model is part of Lauda's Microcool range, renowned for its robustness, ease of use and control accuracy. The MC 250 is an air-cooled model capable of maintaining temperatures from -10 °C to +40 °C with excellent thermal stability of ±0.5 K. It is designed for closed-circuit cooling using non-flammable Class I heat transfer fluids in accordance with DIN 12876-1, such as Kryo 30 (water/glycol mixture) or Aqua 90 (demineralised water).
With dimensions of 200 x 350 x 465 mm and a weight of 28 kg, the Lauda MC 250 can be easily installed on a workbench or in a confined space. Its quiet operation (<70 dB) makes it ideal for use in laboratories or research environments. The robust chassis is equipped with non-slip feet, ensuring excellent stability.
The MC 250's control panel has a 7-segment LED display and simple navigation keys (up/down arrows, Enter button). Three indicator lights show:
- Kryo 30 is in use (yellow LED),
- the cooling unit is activated (blue LED),
- presence of an error (red LED).
The RS232 interface allows the unit to be connected to a computer for remote control via compatible software (such as Wintherm Plus). A potential-free alarm output (12N contact) is also integrated for connection to safety or automation systems.
The MC 250 has an automatic FILL mode that prevents the pump or compressor from operating if the liquid level is insufficient, thus avoiding any risk of dry running. A level sensor, a visual fill indicator and the possibility of setting high and low temperature limits ensure safe operation tailored to your needs.
- Cooling of spectrometers or chromatographs
- Tempering of baths, optical cells or electronic components
- Cooling of small-capacity reactors
- Use in R&D, quality control or production laboratories
The MC 250 consumes only 0.23 kW and offers a flow rate of 16 L/min at a maximum pressure of 0.35 bar (at 20 °C, with water). The hydraulic circuit is easy to connect via ½" fittings and a drain connection facilitates maintenance. Access to the condenser allows regular cleaning to ensure optimum performance.
The Lauda MC 250 stands out for its compactness, reliability and user-friendly interface. It is the ideal solution for all professionals requiring precise, safe cooling in a small space.
