MCO-80IC-PE: Large-Volume Cell Culture: a Controlled and Secure Environment
The PHCbi MCO-80IC-PE CO₂ incubator is specially designed to meet the rigorous requirements of medical applications requiring the culture of large volumes of biological samples. With a capacity of 851 litres, this unit is ideal for hospital laboratories, research centres and pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries that handle large sample series or use high-throughput culture systems.
One of the major advantages of the MCO-80IC-PE is its horizontal laminar airflow across multiple levels. This system ensures thermal homogeneity and uniform CO₂ distribution throughout the chamber, even after multiple door openings. This allows for a quick return to programmed conditions without disrupting cell viability. CO₂ control is provided by an infrared sensor, renowned for its accuracy and responsiveness.
The heart of the chamber is made of inCu-saFe, an exclusive copper-enriched stainless steel alloy. This unique composition combines the durability of stainless steel with the natural antimicrobial properties of copper, reducing the risk of cross-contamination. In addition, the optional SafeCell UV lamp disinfects the circulating air and the water in the humidification tray without compromising the cells in culture.
The incubator also offers a choice of two humidity modes – normal or high – to suit specific culture requirements. Its heating system is positioned to avoid direct contact with water, limiting corrosion and simplifying maintenance. The large heated glass door, combined with a cabinet structure and modular shelves, facilitates access and visual monitoring of cultures in progress.
The MCO-80IC-PE meets ISO Class 5.5 cleanroom compatibility standards, ensuring safe integration into the most demanding environments. Designed to maximise productivity without compromising biological safety, this incubator is a trusted choice for healthcare and biomedical research professionals.
