MDF-1156-PE: a highly reliable cryogenic freezer for optimal cryogenic storage
The PHCbi MDF-1156-PE cryogenic freezer is specially designed to meet the most stringent requirements for cryogenic storage at ultra-low temperatures. With an operating temperature of -152°C, it guarantees optimal storage conditions well below the recrystallisation point of pure water, which is -130°C. As this critical threshold is exceeded by a wide margin, sensitive biological samples such as cells, tissues and cryopreservation solutions benefit from a stable, homogeneous and secure environment for long-term storage.
The technology used is based on a cascade refrigeration system optimised by compressors specially designed for very low temperature applications. This system, combined with a high-efficiency oil separator, not only ensures consistent thermal performance but also increases the service life of internal components. By effectively separating the lubricating oil from the refrigeration circuit, the MDF-1156-PE prevents the risk of clogged pipes and compressor failure, thus ensuring continuous operational availability.
The system is controlled by an integrated microprocessor with non-volatile memory, which retains settings even in the event of a power failure. The clear and intuitive LED interface allows real-time monitoring of the internal temperature and immediate alerts in the event of a fault. The device incorporates several alarm systems (visual, audible and remote) for temperature, power failures or filter blockages, further enhancing safety of use.
From a structural point of view, the MDF-1156-PE has a robust construction with a painted steel body and an aluminium inner tank. Insulation is provided by 175 mm thick polyurethane foam, which maintains extreme temperatures economically and reliably. Its 128-litre internal volume can accommodate up to 81 type 2 boxes, facilitating the organisation and access of stored samples. In addition, the external door is lockable, and a 40 mm diameter access port on the left-hand side allows probes or cables to pass through without compromising the thermal integrity of the chamber.
Thanks to its quiet operation (52 dB), the MDF-1156-PE can be integrated into various laboratory environments without generating significant noise pollution. Finally, additional options such as a continuous tape temperature recorder, chart paper or an ink pen are available to ensure rigorous monitoring of storage conditions.
With its exceptional performance, durable design and high level of safety, the MDF-1156-PE cryogenic freezer is a first-class choice for research centres, biomedical laboratories and pharmaceutical establishments seeking a reliable solution for ultra-low temperature storage.
