Agilent G1377A Micro Well Plate Autosampler: a precise and high-performance system for liquid chromatography
The G1377A Micro Well Plate Autosampler is an integral part of the Agilent 1200 series and has been developed to meet the requirements of laboratories that require precise injection of samples in extremely low volumes, ranging from 0.01 µL to 40 µL depending on the configuration. This system is particularly suitable for capillary liquid chromatography applications where rigorous volume control and low dispersion are essential.
Equipped with a Rheodyne micro valve and an optimised needle seat, loop and seat design, this autosampler significantly reduces dispersion and promotes high-quality analysis. The high-resolution dosing device of the G1377A offers ten times greater accuracy than standard autosamplers, enabling precise volume control even in the most demanding analyses.
The plate transport mechanism uses an X-Z-theta robotic arm that accurately positions the sampling needle above the programmed samples. Once the sample has been taken, it is transferred to the injection position and injected into the column. This robotic operation allows a large number of samples to be processed in a fully automated manner, reducing human intervention and increasing laboratory productivity.
To ensure the cleanliness of the entire circuit, the G1377A is equipped with a needle rinsing station with a peristaltic pump that washes the outside of the needle after each injection. This feature reduces the risk of cross-contamination, a crucial criterion for sensitive analyses. The design also optimises dead volume with a bypass function that facilitates efficient rinsing after injection.
With its compatibility with various sample containers – 384-well plates, 2 mL vials, Eppendorf tubes – and its capacity to process up to 768 samples unattended, the G1377A is a smart choice for high-throughput laboratories. The fast injection cycle (less than 30 seconds under standard conditions) and injection accuracy ensure reproducible results.
