QUANTOM Tx™: A Revolution in Bacterial Cell Counting
The QUANTOM Tx™ by Logos Biosystems is a next-generation microbial cell counter that redefines traditional bacterial quantification methods. Unlike conventional techniques such as colony-forming unit (CFU) counting or turbidity measurements, which are often time-consuming and imprecise, the QUANTOM Tx™ offers a fast, reliable, and fully automated analysis—ideal for research, analytical, and industrial laboratories.
Specifically engineered for bacterial detection and enumeration, the QUANTOM Tx™ employs fluorescence microscopy paired with a high-sensitivity CMOS sensor. Even the smallest cells—whether isolated, in chains, or tightly clustered—are individually detected through a bacteria-optimized declustering algorithm. This technology ensures accurate identification of both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
Sample preparation is both quick and efficient: simply mix the bacterial suspension with a fluorescent dye and loading buffer, apply it to a dedicated QUANTOM™ counting slide, and centrifuge it using the QUANTOM™ centrifuge. This step guarantees an even monolayer distribution of cells for optimal counting accuracy. Once the slide is inserted into the device, image acquisition and analysis are fully automated, delivering results in under 30 seconds. The built-in autofocus system ensures precise focusing for each field of view, enhancing the reliability of the results.
Featuring a 10-inch touchscreen interface with integrated image and histogram analysis tools, users can visualize and validate their data in real-time. Data, images, and reports can be exported via USB or WiFi, making post-analysis processing seamless and efficient.
Proven effective even with mixed bacterial cultures, the QUANTOM Tx™ is a must-have tool for any lab demanding speed, precision, and ease of use in microbial analysis.
