Description

Centrisart® A-14 Microcentrifuge by Sartorius: Precision, Efficiency, and Versatility

The Centrisart® A-14 by Sartorius is a cutting-edge microcentrifuge that offers the ideal balance between performance, efficiency, and space-saving design. This high-performance centrifuge is specifically designed for tasks like nucleic acid isolation, biological sample concentration, and sedimentation of particles in small volumes. With a maximum speed of 14,800 rpm and a capacity of 24 × 2 ml, the Centrisart® A-14 ensures that your laboratory processes are carried out with the highest precision and consistency.

Compact in its design, the Centrisart® A-14 takes up very little space on a laboratory bench, with dimensions of just 212 × 266 × 176 mm. Despite its small footprint, it packs powerful features that make it indispensable in various applications, including ultrafiltration, desalting, buffer exchange, and removal of molecular weight contaminants. These processes are particularly enhanced when using the Vivaspin® 500 ultrafiltration unit, specially tailored for the A-14’s rotor.

One of the most striking aspects of the Centrisart® A-14 is its user-friendly design. It boasts a motorized lid lock system that makes loading and removing samples a breeze. With a gentle push, the lid closes automatically, and after the centrifugation run is complete, the lid unlocks and opens with minimal effort. This feature significantly improves the ergonomics of the device, allowing users to operate it efficiently with just one finger. Moreover, the spring mechanism ensures that the lid remains securely open during the loading and unloading of samples, providing an extra layer of convenience and safety.

The microcentrifuge's rotor chamber is air-driven and cooled, ensuring uniform temperature distribution throughout the process. This feature is particularly beneficial for temperature-sensitive samples, as it prevents overheating and maintains sample integrity. For even greater protection, the Centrisart® A-14C variant is available, equipped with an active cooling system for more demanding applications.

Operating the Centrisart® A-14 is simple and intuitive, thanks to its large control buttons and clear LCD display (50 × 37 mm), which offers easy navigation of centrifugation settings. The device allows users to adjust speed from 200 to 14,800 rpm in increments of 100 rpm and adjust the Relative Centrifugal Force (RCF) in 10 × g steps. The built-in timer can be set for anywhere between 10 seconds and 99 minutes with step adjustments as precise as one second, supporting both continuous and short runs.

In terms of noise levels, the Centrisart® A-14 operates quietly at a maximum of 53 dB, which makes it ideal for use in environments where noise reduction is important. The maintenance-free, brushless drive motor further enhances the device's reliability, ensuring it remains operational over long periods without requiring frequent servicing.

The Centrisart® A-14 microcentrifuge is more than just a compact tool. It represents Sartorius’s commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable products that meet the needs of modern laboratories. Whether you’re concentrating biological samples, performing nucleic acid purification, or conducting sedimentation of cells and particles, the Centrisart® A-14 is designed to provide consistent, accurate results every time.
