Precise Medical Filtration for Aggressive Liquids and Ventilation Applications: Minisart® SRP by Sartorius
The Minisart® SRP syringe filter is a filtration solution specially designed to meet the requirements of medical and pharmaceutical environments where the filtered liquids are highly chemically aggressive or must be ventilated without humidification. This model is based on a hydrophobic PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) membrane, ideal for treating pure solvents, gases, acids and bases. Thanks to this membrane, the filter offers high chemical resistance, even to substances such as methanol, acetone, chloroform and DMSO.
The filter body is made of polypropylene (PP), a robust material that guarantees the mechanical stability of the assembly, even under pressure. The structure is designed to withstand operating pressures of up to 4.5 bar, with a burst pressure exceeding 7 bar. This ensures enhanced reliability during critical procedures such as solution preparation or gas filtration in medical applications.
The Minisart® SRP is available in three diameters: 4 mm, 15 mm and 25 mm, each offering a filtration surface area suited to the volumes to be treated. It is therefore suitable for both small quantities (less than 1 mL) and larger volumes up to 200 mL. The models are equipped with standard connectors, mainly male Luer outlets, ensuring compatibility with common medical devices.
This filter is non-sterile but can be sterilised by autoclave or ethylene oxide (EO), making it particularly practical for medical establishments with their own sterilisation chain. It is also compatible with sterility testing according to the BCT protocol (Brevundimonas diminuta ≥ 10⁷ cfu/cm²) for 0.2 µm pore size versions.
The Minisart® SRP is a reliable choice for filtering complex or potentially aggressive fluids in demanding medical settings. It offers safety, performance and compatibility with professional filtration standards without compromising process stability or efficiency.
