Mistral-Air® – The smart solution for patient thermal management
Mistral-Air® is an innovative medical device developed by Stryker to meet the growing need for hypothermia prevention in hospitalised patients. This forced-air warming system combines technology, enhanced safety and ease of use, making it the preferred choice in modern surgical environments.
Perioperative hypothermia can lead to serious complications such as surgical site infections, impaired coagulation, prolonged recovery and increased hospital stays. Mistral-Air® works by maintaining the patient's body temperature at an optimal level through a flow of warm air delivered via special blankets.
At the heart of the system is a warming unit equipped with a silent high-flow blower, a powerful heating element and a HEPA H13 filter capable of capturing 99.99% of particles as small as 0.3 microns. This level of filtration ensures clean, safe air, which is essential in sensitive environments such as operating theatres.
The control panel is intuitive, with pressure-sensitive buttons for quickly selecting the desired temperature: 32°C, 38°C or 43°C, as well as a fan-only mode. LED indicators and audible alarms alert the user in the event of overheating, insufficient temperature or maintenance requirements (filter change after 2,000 hours of use).
The Mistral-Air® is only compatible with Mistral-Air® disposable blankets, available in several sizes and configurations: full body, half body, under the body, neonatal, paediatric, adult, sterile or non-sterile. Some blankets feature reflective technology for passive thermal insulation when the unit is not connected.
The system can be mounted on an adjustable stand, bed rail, wall or table, offering great installation flexibility. It is also equipped with a 4-metre power cord and a 1.8-metre hose, with an XL hose option.
The Mistral-Air® is a complete, reliable and ergonomic solution for improving patient care while simplifying the work of healthcare professionals.
