HR83-P – Halogen Moisture Balance for Efficient Drying and Reliable Results

The HR83-P halogen moisture balance from Mettler Toledo is designed to provide rapid and accurate moisture content measurements for a wide range of substances. Utilizing the thermogravimetric principle, the HR83-P starts by determining the initial weight of the sample. The integral halogen heating module then quickly heats the sample, causing the moisture to evaporate. Throughout the drying process, the balance continuously measures the sample's weight, displaying the reduction in moisture until drying is complete. The final moisture or solid content of the sample is then displayed as the result.

A key feature of the HR83-P is its halogen heating module, which reaches its maximum heating power faster than conventional infrared heaters or drying oven methods. This efficiency allows the analyzer to handle high temperatures, further speeding up the drying process. The uniform heating provided by the halogen module ensures repeatable drying results and allows for the use of smaller sample amounts.

The HR83-P offers a sophisticated range of drying programs, including Standard, Quick, Gentle, and Steps modes. Users can customize these programs to meet specific sample requirements. The analyzer also features a built-in method database with 40 customizable methods, easily activated at the touch of a button. The AutoMet function allows for automatic determination of optimal cutoff criteria through a test measurement, increasing the device's flexibility.

Additional features include various result display options and the ability to record and protect measurement parameters and results with 3-level password protection. Up to 4 comment lines can be added per measurement, with optional support for a barcode reader. The HR83-P also includes a rechargeable battery that preserves data in the event of a power failure, ensuring continuity of critical operations.

For precise and compliant documentation, the HR83-P can generate detailed GLP-compliant reports via an optional built-in printer.
