Description

MA30 Moisture Balance – Precision with Infrared Heating

The Sartorius MA30 moisture balance represents a sophisticated solution for precise moisture content analysis. Using infrared heating technology, this analyzer determines moisture content by measuring the weight loss during the drying process. The weighing system supports a maximum sample weight of 30 grams, with a high readability of 0.01%, making it suitable for a wide range of materials, from grains to powders.

The design of the MA30 includes glass panels on the front and sides, allowing users to easily observe the sample throughout the analysis process. This transparency enhances visibility and ensures that users can monitor the progression of moisture determination in real-time. The integrated heating system is equipped with two tubular infrared heating elements, known as dark radiators, which provide uniform and consistent heating of the sample, ensuring accurate and reproducible results.

Temperature control is managed by a built-in resistance temperature sensor located in the innermost chamber of the analyzer. This sensor continuously transmits the measured temperature to the electronic components, which regulate the heating process with high precision. The analyzer's temperature range extends from 40°C to 160°C (104°F to 320°F), with increments of 5°C (41°F), allowing flexibility in testing various materials under different conditions.

To ensure operational safety and accuracy, the MA30 is equipped with a mechanical contact system that detects whether the hood is properly closed. This feature prevents the moisture determination routine from starting if the hood is open and interrupts the routine if the hood is raised during analysis. This safety mechanism helps maintain the integrity of the results and ensures user safety.

The analyzer operates within an allowable ambient temperature range of 10°C to 40°C (50°F to 104°F) and offers a robust power system that supports selectable voltage options of 115V or 230V, with a frequency of 50–60 Hz. Its power consumption is up to 400 VA, ensuring efficient operation. The unit’s compact dimensions (217x283x165 mm) and its net weight of approximately 5.5 kg (12.1 lbs) make it a versatile addition to any laboratory or production environment.

For data management, the MA30 includes an RS 232 C-S/V24-V28 interface, which supports 7 data bits, ASCII communication at 1,200 baud, and odd parity. This interface allows for smooth data transfer and integration with external systems. Additionally, the optional data printer accessory provides enhanced functionality with date/time stamps and statistical analysis capabilities.

The MA30 moisture balance is an extremely effective and reliable instrument for precise moisture content measurement, combining cutting-edge infrared heating technology with intuitive features and comprehensive data management options.
