MOZART: Precision Intraoperative Imaging for Breast Surgery
The MOZART® System with TomoSpec® technology from Kubtec is a medical device designed to optimise the evaluation of breast specimens directly in the operating theatre. By integrating 3D tomosynthesis, 2D radiography and high-resolution optical imaging in a single system, it provides extremely accurate visualisation of lesions, even through dense tissue or skin. This accuracy allows surgeons to locate the lesion with certainty, assess its margins and clearly differentiate between healthy and affected tissue. The goal is to maximise breast conservation while reducing the risk of reoperation. The images obtained are sliced into 1 mm slices, providing a higher level of detail than conventional orthogonal views and facilitating immediate decision-making during surgery.
Universal Compatibility and Optimal Image Quality
MOZART® is designed to adapt to different surgical workflows thanks to its compatibility with all types of specimen containers, whether compressed or not. It requires no proprietary consumables, simplifying its integration into operating theatres. Its large 12 x 15 cm detector, combined with a spatial resolution of 10 line pairs per millimetre in contact mode, ensures consistent and reliable image quality. The integrated 13-megapixel optical camera complements radiological imaging with high-quality visual documentation, providing useful double confirmation for diagnosis and archiving. The system also incorporates K-VIEW® Composite Imaging, which generates a unique 2D view from 3D data, simplifying the interpretation of results.
Clinical Efficiency and Ergonomics for the Operating Theatre
Designed for intensive use in surgical environments, MOZART® offers an ergonomic design with a height-adjustable monitor and keyboard for optimal user comfort. Its antimicrobial surfaces enhance safety by limiting the risk of cross-contamination. The system requires no warm-up time and features automatic calibration, ensuring immediate availability. Thanks to its DICOM compatibility, images can be annotated, stored and transmitted wirelessly to the PACS with a single click, facilitating collaboration with the entire medical team, including radiologists and pathologists. The time savings and increased accuracy offered by MOZART® directly contribute to reducing re-excision rates and improving surgical outcomes.
