MPW-251 benchtop centrifuge for laboratory applications
The MPW-251 is a benchtop centrifuge specially designed to meet the needs of laboratories for the separation of biological samples. Used in in vitro diagnostics, it is suitable for separating components from human, animal or plant samples with different densities. Thanks to its robust and high-performance design, it guarantees safe and accurate operation, while offering great flexibility of use in different analytical contexts.
The centrifuge has a microprocessor control system that allows precise programming of operating parameters. Users can set the rotation speed between 100 and 18,000 rpm in increments of 100 rpm, as well as the centrifugation time, ranging from a few seconds to continuous operation. The machine offers 99 storable programmes, facilitating the repetition of protocols.
Its brushless asynchronous motor ensures quiet operation (56 dB) and a long service life, while the solid construction guarantees excellent resistance to mechanical stress. The stainless steel centrifuge chamber ensures high durability and optimum protection against corrosion. The rotors, made of aluminium with hermetic polycarbonate or aluminium covers, ensure effective sealing and stable positioning of the samples.
The MPW-251 offers numerous acceleration and deceleration modes, allowing the centrifugation profile to be adapted to the specific requirements of the samples. It also features an automatic lid opening function at the end of the cycle, improving user comfort. For analyses requiring initial cooling, a specific short-cycle mode is available.
In terms of safety, the centrifuge incorporates several features: electromagnetic lid lock, load imbalance control, rotor-programme compatibility check, and opening only possible when the rotor has come to a complete stop. These systems ensure safe operation and reduce the risk of mishandling.
Ergonomics are enhanced by a clear and intuitive control panel with a sealed keypad and easy-to-read display. The main functions are easily accessible, allowing quick adjustment of parameters and real-time monitoring of the centrifugation process. An RS-232 interface is available for connection to a computer, allowing operating parameters to be recorded and printed.
The versatility of the MPW-251 is also reflected in the wide range of compatible rotors and accessories. Users can select the configurations best suited to their applications: angle rotors for high speeds, swing-out rotors for larger volumes, rotors for PCR microtubes, rotors for microplates, and haematocrit rotors. Numerous adapters allow different tube formats to be used, optimising flexibility of use.
The device is designed for use in standard laboratory environmental conditions, with an ambient temperature between +2°C and +40°C and relative humidity below 80%. Compact and relatively lightweight (15 kg), it can be easily installed on a stable bench, respecting the 30 cm safety zone around the equipment.
Thanks to its modular design, numerous options and high level of performance, the MPW-251 is the strategic choice for laboratories looking for a reliable and efficient tool for sample preparation and analysis. Whether for routine protocols, biomedical research or specialised applications, this centrifuge offers the ideal combination of precision, safety and versatility.
