Mirante SLO: Comprehensive Retinal Imaging for Lesion Detection and Patient Follow-Up - Ultra Large Field Capabilities and Advanced Data Analysis with NAVIS-EX
The Mirante SLO model serves as a comprehensive tool for large-field imaging of the retina, encompassing a range of daily-used photographs for fundus observation, obtainable in an ultra-large field mode. This includes color photography, deconstruction into single red/green/blue colors, infrared (IR) photography, auto fluorescence (FAF-blue/FAF-green), retro mode, and dynamic/static angiographies using fluorescein (FA) and indocyanine green (ICG). The high-definition fundus images, acquired through LSO scanning with a normal 89° field and extending to a large field of up to 163°, exhibit premium contrast.
The analysis of color photos and original red, green, and blue images, acquired directly without filtration from wavelength-dedicated sensors, facilitates the examination of fine fundus details, aiding in the detection of lesions in retinal-choroidal pathologies.
Within the LSO imaging of the fundus, auto fluorescence is employed for analyzing the pigmentary epithelium, with two versions catering to the green wavelength for macula visibility and the blue wavelength for optimal papilla observation, allowing adaptation to the studied pathology.
Dynamic/static injection angiography, using fluorescein and/or ICG, enables the observation of retina and choroid vascularization from early filling phases to late stages. Real-time infrared imaging ensures early alignment during injection, reducing information loss. The retro mode, unique to Mirante, employs infrared imaging to highlight deep layers of the retina, enhancing the detection of fine lesions, including those of drusen, often invisible with conventional imaging methods.
The ultra-large field adapter extends the analysis zone to 163° for peripheral access. Tilt and rotation of the product's upper part enable observation up to the extreme periphery, with picture reconstruction providing a comprehensive view of the entire fundus up to the ora serrata.
Data analysis is facilitated through the NAVIS-EX software platform, managing the patient database for NIDEK imaging devices and equipped with dedicated viewers for Mirante results. LSO imaging analyses include multicolor/red/green/blue deconstruction, panoramic reconstruction, face-to-face right eye/left eye analysis, comparison between modalities with image resetting, and a patient follow-up tool.
