Multiskan SkyHigh spectrophotometer: precision and versatility for modern laboratories
The Multiskan™ SkyHigh is a microplate and cuvette spectrophotometer designed to meet the demands of research laboratories. Thanks to its technology based on a monochromator and a xenon flash lamp, it enables accurate photometric measurements across a wide range of wavelengths. It is compatible with 6- to 384-well microplates, with or without lids, and can also perform measurements on cuvettes for models equipped with a cuvette port.
The Multiskan SkyHigh's optical system is based on a polychromatic beam diffracted by a rotating holographic grating, allowing precise wavelength selection via the monochromator. The light is then guided by optical fibre to the measuring optics, where it passes through the sample and is detected simultaneously by a reference detector and a measuring detector. This configuration ensures effective compensation for fluctuations in lamp intensity, guaranteeing reliable and reproducible results.
Touchscreen interface and connectivity for an optimised user experience
Models equipped with a touch screen offer an intuitive interface divided into three sections: the navigation bar, function tiles, and application bar. Users can quickly access measurement functions (absorbance, turbidity, spectrum), saved protocols, previous results, and instrument settings. The touchscreen is designed for use with disposable gloves, ensuring safe handling in a laboratory environment.
The Multiskan SkyHigh can be connected to the cloud via Thermo Fisher Connect, to Microsoft OneDrive or to the local network, facilitating the export of results and data management. It is also compatible with SkanIt™ software, which allows you to create measurement sessions, define protocols, analyse results and generate detailed reports in various formats (Excel, PDF, XML, TXT).
Features: incubation, stirring and compatibility with uDrop plates
The Multiskan SkyHigh features an incubator that can be set to up to 37°C, with condensation control, enabling temperature-controlled analyses. The linear stirring system ensures homogeneous mixing of liquids in the wells, optimised for low-viscosity aqueous solutions. These functions are essential for applications such as ELISA assays, cell viability measurement or bacterial growth.
The Multiskan SkyHigh is designed for use in laboratories in accordance with good laboratory practice (GLP), with integrated safety features, optimised energy consumption and easy maintenance thanks to detailed checklists.
