Myra from Bio Molecular Systems, the intelligent pipetting system for simplified qPCR preparation
The Myra from Bio Molecular Systems revolutionises qPCR experiment preparation with intelligent automation and unrivalled precision. This liquid handling system has been designed to significantly reduce preparation time while maintaining a high level of reliability, even for the smallest volumes. Thanks to seamless integration with the Mic qPCR cycler, Myra simplifies the overall process, allowing researchers to focus on analysing results rather than tedious pipetting tasks.
Weighing only 10 kg and with a footprint of less than 1,700 cm², Myra is one of the most compact liquid handling systems on the market. It is equipped with a HEPA filtration system and UV LED lighting to ensure a contamination-free preparation environment. These features make it an ideal solution for laboratories where space is limited and sample purity is paramount.
The Myra also stands out thanks to its integrated miniature camera and vision technology, which simplify the calibration of laboratory plastics. By simply pointing the camera at the centre of the well, the device automatically calibrates its position, eliminating the need to manually adjust the pipette tips. This feature ensures optimal accuracy, even in plates with very small wells, such as 384-well plates.
The system features a miniature pressure sensor in its pipette head, enabling precise detection of liquid levels and real-time monitoring of aspiration and dispensing processes. This ensures that each sample is pipetted exactly as intended, without the risk of human error. Combined with high-precision motion control technology, the Myra offers exceptionally reliable pipetting performance.
In terms of performance, Myra offers accuracy and precision of less than 10% for pipetting volumes as low as 1 µL, allowing you to work efficiently with microvolumes while maintaining the reproducibility of your experiments. The robust design of its pipette head, optimised for multi-dispensing and tip reuse, ensures fast and secure plate loading, improving the work rate.
The Myra has been designed to be scalable. Future software and hardware updates will enhance its functionality and strengthen its vision system, enabling the device to adapt to the changing needs of modern laboratories.
