nCounter® Analysis System: a system for gene analysis
Bruker's nCounter® Analysis System is a state-of-the-art platform dedicated to gene expression analysis, which has become a benchmark in biomedical and pharmaceutical research laboratories. Thanks to its direct digital detection technology, this system enables the accurate counting of thousands of target molecules without the need for enzymatic steps such as reverse transcription or amplification, ensuring unrivalled technical reproducibility and optimal accuracy.
One of the key strengths of nCounter® is its ability to process a wide range of samples, including those considered difficult, such as old FFPE tissues, blood and biofluids. This gives researchers considerable flexibility in their choice of samples and facilitates longitudinal studies with high confidence in data quality.
The nCounter® also stands out for its efficient, automated workflow. With human intervention reduced to less than 15 minutes for most tests and a turnaround time of less than 24 hours, it allows research teams to optimise their productivity and spend more time on scientific analysis. The ability to process up to 96 samples per run using PlexSet™ chemistry makes it a highly scalable solution suitable for both small validation projects and high-throughput screening studies.
In terms of performance, the platform offers a linear dynamic range over five orders of magnitude and remarkable sensitivity, capable of detecting expression differences even in degraded samples. The unique probe design, requiring only a 100 base pair region for hybridisation, contributes to the robustness of the results.
To support researchers in exploiting their data, Bruker offers powerful and intuitive analysis tools, such as nSolver™ software and the ROSALIND® cloud platform, enabling rapid visualisation of experimental trends and in-depth interpretation of results without the need for bioinformatics expertise.
The nCounter® Analysis System is part of a continuous innovation process, offering laboratories a reliable, flexible and high-performance tool to accelerate the discovery and development of biomarkers.
