Description

STEPHANIE, the Ventilation System for Neonatology

The STEPHANIE ventilation system from Fritz Stephan represents excellence in medical technology for neonatology and paediatrics. This innovative device combines several essential features for the care of newborns and children requiring respiratory support. Thanks to its ergonomic design and cutting-edge technologies, STEPHANIE offers a comprehensive solution for healthcare professionals, enabling precise, safe ventilation tailored to the specific needs of patients.

One of STEPHANIE's strengths is its ability to offer conventional ventilation as well as high-frequency oscillation (HFOV). The latter can be activated instantly without the need to change tubes, allowing for a quick and efficient transition between ventilation modes. The system also incorporates proportional airway pressure ( PAV) ventilation , which reduces obstructive or resistive stress on the lungs of newborns while maintaining their spontaneous breathing rhythm. This feature is particularly useful for compensating for lung deficiencies and improving patient respiratory comfort.

STEPHANIE is equipped with an integrated gas humidifier, which ensures optimal humidification and warming of the respiratory gases. This system prevents the risks associated with insufficient humidification, such as increased viscosity of respiratory secretions and airway obstruction. The device's intelligent sensors compensate for temperature differences, preventing condensation from forming in the tubes and ensuring optimal hygienic conditions.

The STEPHANIE ventilation system also stands out for its non-invasive ventilation (NIV), which enables lung-protective ventilation strategies. This feature reduces the risk of air leak syndromes and bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD). The device is also equipped with an external abdominal motion sensor, which detects the patient's respiratory movements and converts them into stable and rapid trigger signals, thereby improving ventilation efficiency.

STEPHANIE incorporates a"Closed Loop Ventilation" feature, which uses oxygen saturation (SpO2) data to automatically adjust rescue ventilation when needed. This innovation enables safer and more responsive patient care, particularly in cases of deteriorating respiratory status.

The STEPHANIE ventilation system from Fritz Stephan is an indispensable tool for healthcare professionals working in neonatology and paediatrics. With its cutting-edge technologies and innovative features, it offers optimal patient care while ensuring their safety and comfort.
