Barco's Nio 5MP LED (MDNG-5221) is a monochrome medical monitor specially designed for demanding diagnostic environments such as radiology and digital mammography. Its native resolution of 2560 x 2048 pixels in 5:4 format provides optimal detail for interpreting complex medical images. Thanks to its dual-domain IPS panel and 178° viewing angle, it provides consistent and accurate viewing, even when viewed from an angle. The 10-bit colour depth provides more shades of grey, which is essential for detecting the most subtle anomalies in radiological examinations. This display complies with DICOM requirements, ensuring accurate contrast and luminance levels for high-quality clinical interpretation.

The Nio 5MP LED incorporates several Barco technologies designed to optimise the work of radiologists. Its integrated front sensor ensures continuous display quality control and facilitates automatic calibration. In combination with QAWeb Enterprise software, this solution guarantees DICOM compliance and image consistency, day after day, without complex user intervention. Uniform Luminance Technology (ULT) ensures consistent luminance across the entire screen, preventing variations that could complicate image analysis. This visual consistency also reduces the time spent on window and level adjustments, improving efficiency and comfort during long reading sessions.
Performance, Reliability and Energy Optimisation
Designed to last, the Nio 5MP LED is equipped with high-brightness LED backlights offering up to 1020 cd/m² of maximum luminance, with a calibrated luminance of 600 cd/m² for diagnostics. This light output reveals more nuances in the light and dark areas of medical images. Despite this high brightness, power consumption remains low (43 W in nominal operation), reducing heat dissipation and cooling requirements. This energy efficiency extends component life and lowers operating costs.
Ergonomic, it offers tilt, swivel and height adjustments, as well as compatibility with VESA mounts for flexible integration into any clinical environment. Its anti-glare protective glass ensures optimal visual comfort while protecting the panel from impacts and smudges.
