Ray Vision PM-300: a precise, portable and intuitive biometer for ophthalmology professionals
The Ray Vision PM-300 is an eye biometric measurement device designed to meet the needs of eye care professionals looking for a high-performance, compact and easy-to-use device. Thanks to its ergonomic design, light weight (only 1.7 kg) and user-friendly touchscreen interface, it is the obvious choice for ophthalmology practices, operating theatres and mobile use during outpatient consultations.
One of the PM-300's great strengths is the accuracy of its measurements. It allows for quick and reliable assessment of axial length, anterior chamber depth, lens thickness and vitreous thickness. It also features an automatic mode for continuous or manual measurement, depending on the practitioner's needs. The internal algorithm automatically calculates the mean and standard deviation, ensuring highly reliable results.
Support for different types of eyes, whether phakic, aphakic, with dense cataracts or pseudophakic with specific materials (PMMA, silicone or acrylic), enhances the versatility of the device. For corneal thickness measurement (pachymetry), the PM-300 can be equipped with an optional 11 MHz gel-free probe, allowing measurements at 33 points on the cornea with remarkable accuracy of 0.5 µm.
The PM-300 features high-quality display technology with a large colour TFT touchscreen, providing clear visualisation of data and echoes. It offers a viewing mode called "Echoes View", which facilitates signal analysis to optimise measurement quality. In addition, thanks to its generous internal memory, the device can store thousands of eye data points, making patient follow-up simple and efficient.
In terms of calculations, the PM-300 offers six formulas for calculating intraocular lenses (IOLs): HAIGIS, HOFFER-Q, HOLLADAY, BINKHORST, SRK-II and SRK-T. Simultaneous calculations can be performed on two different lenses to obtain nine desired ametropia results per lens. The user can also adjust the A, ACD and SF constants according to the type of IOL selected, with a calculation accuracy of up to 0.01 dioptres.
This device has advanced features such as automatic gain control, USB and mouse ports for expanded connectivity, and a built-in thermal printer for immediate report printing. It is also possible to connect a USB stick to transfer or back up data.
Its universal power supply (100-240V) and compact dimensions (240 x 130 x 205 mm) make it a truly portable tool without compromising on performance or reliability. The Ray Vision PM-300 combines modernity, ergonomics and cutting-edge technology for ophthalmological diagnostics.
