The Tomey OA-1000 Optical Biometer is an automated optical biometry device.
Thanks to its auto-alignment and auto-capture function, it ensures precise measurement of axial length, anterior chamber depth (ACD), and pachymetry.
The Tomey OA-1000 Optical Biometer is a comprehensive diagnostic tool designed for precise measurements in ophthalmic examinations. This set includes the optical biometer along with a trolley and an electric optical bench CS-250, offering a complete solution for eye health professionals. Manufactured in 2010, it is in patient-ready condition, ensuring reliability and efficiency in clinical settings.
This advanced optical biometer utilizes non-contact and non-invasive methods to measure key parameters such as axial length, anterior chamber depth (ACD), and central corneal thickness (CCT). Based on the principle of a low coherence interferometer, it delivers accurate measurements essential for cataract surgery evaluations.
With its automated features including auto-alignment and auto-shot functions, the OA-1000 ensures precise alignment on the visual axis, simplifying the measurement process and reducing the margin of error. It offers a fast and efficient way to obtain measurements, with data acquisition taking only about 5 seconds per eye.
Moreover, the OA-1000 can be seamlessly integrated with other diagnostic instruments from Tomey, enhancing its versatility and functionality. By combining it with ultrasound biometers or topographers such as the TMS-4/TMS-5, clinicians can obtain comprehensive measurement data in various conditions of the eye, ensuring thorough evaluations for treatment planning.
OA-1000 with TMS-4/TMS-5 topographer: By integrating the OA-1000 with the TMS-4/TMS-5 topographer, the process of calculating intraocular lens (IOL) power is simplified. This combination of optical biometry and high-resolution topography allows for precise measurements. With the integration of Okulix Ray tracing software and a comprehensive IOL database, the exact IOL power can be determined within seconds. This calculation is independent of both the physical factors (such as axial length) and optical conditions (e.g., refractive surgery history) of the eye.
The device's dense cataract mode enables accurate measurements even in challenging cases where optical media density is high, ensuring reliable results in all clinical scenarios. Additionally, integration with Ray Tracing calculation software facilitates precise IOL power calculation, considering both physical and optical conditions of the eye.
Equipped with a super luminescent diode (SLD) light source with a wavelength of 820 ~ 850nm, the OA-1000 offers high-resolution measurements with a measurement range of 14 ~ 40mm for axial length, 1.5 ~ 7.0mm for anterior chamber depth, and 200 ~ 1200µm for corneal thickness.
With its compact dimensions and manageable weight, the OA-1000 is designed for ease of use in clinical environments. Its intuitive interface and advanced features make it an indispensable tool for eye health professionals, providing reliable and accurate measurements for precise diagnosis and treatment planning.
