Thermo Scientific Orion Star A211: Laboratory performance for your pH analyses
The Thermo Scientific Orion Star A211 benchtop pH meter is designed to provide a simple, reliable and comprehensive measurement solution for all laboratory applications. It is ideal for research, quality control, teaching and industrial laboratories thanks to its robustness, accuracy and ease of use. This model emphasises user-friendliness, intuitiveness and reliability, allowing users of all experience levels to take accurate measurements of pH, redox potential (mV/RmV) and temperature.
The Orion Star A211 stands out first and foremost for its large backlit graphic display, which is easy to read even in poorly lit environments. It simultaneously displays pH, potential and temperature measurements, while providing useful information such as electrode status, date, time, sample and user IDs, and calibration points. This clear and comprehensive interface is complemented by programmable soft keys that adapt dynamically to the context, making it easy to navigate and select the available options.
The AUTO-READ™ system guarantees stable readings by automatically freezing the measurement when it stabilises, while the programmed reading mode allows data to be collected at defined intervals. The device supports up to five calibration points with automatic recognition of standard buffers (USA/NIST or DIN), improving measurement accuracy and simplifying configuration. It is also possible to edit a calibration without having to start the whole process again, saving considerable time.
With a non-volatile memory capable of storing up to 2,000 time-stamped data points, users can store a large volume of measurements without fear of losing information. USB and RS232 connectivity allows this data to be easily transferred to a computer for further analysis and ensures that the device software can be updated using the software provided.
Another practical advantage is that the Orion Star A211 allows direct control of an Orion Star stirrer probe (ref. 096019, sold separately), eliminating the need for a separate stirrer plate to mix samples. The electrode arm, combined with the new probe holder, facilitates handling and positioning of the sensors in the samples, reducing the risk of measurement errors.
The device operates on mains power via a universal adapter (included) or with four AA batteries (not included), making it mobile and adaptable. Its IP54-rated housing is splash-proof and can be wall-mounted if space is limited.
The Orion Star A211 combines robustness, ergonomics and precision in a device designed to integrate effectively into any laboratory environment. It enables reliable pH measurements while ensuring optimal traceability and ease of use.
