OxiTop® IS 12 – Simultaneous BOD analysis of 12 samples, completely independently
The OxiTop® IS 12 is a complete biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) measurement system designed specifically for laboratory environments requiring parallel processing of multiple samples. Its ability to handle up to 12 measuring stations simultaneously saves significant time in routine analyses. Based on manometric respirometric technology, the device measures the pressure produced by oxygen consumption, which is then converted into a BOD value via a digital display.
The central element of this system is its induction stirring system, which is electronically controlled with no moving mechanical parts, ensuring constant, silent and maintenance-free stirring. The efficiency of the stirring improves the oxygenation and homogeneity of each sample, thus optimising the reliability of the measured data.
The AutoTemp function allows the measurement to start automatically as soon as the sample reaches 20°C, between 1 and 3 hours after insertion. This avoids tedious manual preheating, which is particularly useful in high-load situations. The OxiTop® IS 12 automatically records data every 24 hours over a period of five days without the need for human intervention, making it ideal for periods when no staff are present, such as weekends.
The measurements are displayed in digits on a clear LED screen, with a range of up to 50 digits, allowing easy conversion to mg/l depending on the sample volume used. The instrument is powered by a dedicated transformer and features a compact, robust design, weighing 3.2 kg including the transformer.
Designed for use with sample bottles, rubber cups, magnetic stir bars and other WTW-compatible accessories, the OxiTop® IS 12 is a complete platform for BOD analysis, particularly in domestic wastewater that does not require dilution or inhibitors.
It is ideal for laboratory environments requiring reproducible measurements and efficient management of analyses on multiple samples.
