Mindray P4-2 ultrasound probe: Precision and versatility for your medical diagnostics
The Mindray P4-2 is a high-performance phase array ultrasound probe specifically designed to meet the demands of adult cardiac, thoracic and abdominal examinations. Its 2.9 MHz centre frequency provides an optimal compromise between penetration and image resolution, making this probe ideal for transthoracic examinations where visualisation of deep structures is essential.
Integrated into Mindray's Doppler ultrasound ecosystem, the P4-2 stands out for its ability to deliver accurate, clear and stable images, even in complex clinical conditions. It supports B-mode imaging, colour Doppler, pulsed and continuous Doppler , as well as tissue imaging, depending on the features available on the host system.
The ergonomic design of the P4-2, with a 1950 mm cable, ensures easy handling for the operator, even during prolonged examinations. Its narrow head facilitates intercostal access for cardiac ultrasound. Compliant with IPX7, the active part of the probe is submersible for high-level disinfection. However, the connector is not waterproof and must never be immersed.
The probe can be used with a needle guide (model NGB-011) for ultrasound-guided puncture or biopsy procedures, with standard guide angles (11° or 23°) and 13G to 20G needles, offering expanded clinical possibilities.
In terms of maintenance, thorough disinfection is recommended before and after each examination, and sterilisation for invasive procedures. The P4-2 supports disinfection solutions compatible with hospital standards (Cidex OPA, Minncare, etc.).
Its durability is reinforced by Mindray's manufacturing quality, ensuring a long service life, even with repeated disinfection cycles.
