Biometry involves measuring the axial length of the eye for calculating the intraocular lens power, while pachymetry involves measuring corneal thickness, useful for assessing intraocular pressure and planning refractive surgery.

This system is designed to provide accurate and high-quality ocular measurements in a simple and user-friendly manner. It consists of a main console, a foot pedal, an external power supply, and a biometry probe.

The system uses a 20 MHz ±2 MHz frequency probe with a resolution of ±1 µm and an accuracy of ±5 µm. It offers a corneal thickness measurement range from 100 to 350, 400 to 700, and 300 to 1100 µm, providing flexibility for various applications.

A-scan biometry allows measuring the axial length of the eye, crucial information for calculating the intraocular lens power needed for cataract surgery. Pachymetry, on the other hand, measures corneal thickness, an essential step before refractive surgery such as Lasik or PRK, and can also help assess the risk of glaucoma.

The system features an 800 x 600 SVGA LCD touchscreen display, as well as an external SVGA output for connecting an external monitor. It is equipped with a built-in thermal printer for obtaining paper copies of screens and reports.

Power for the OcuScan RxP Measurement System is provided by one of two universal external power supplies, providing continuous voltage.
