SP-3000 Pachymeter: Precision and Efficiency in a Compact Format
The Tomey SP-3000 is a pachymetry device designed for eye care professionals seeking precise corneal thickness measurements during ophthalmologic examinations or surgical procedures. It stands out for its ability to deliver reliable and repeatable results while offering a user-friendly interface.
Its compact design incorporates a 5.7-inch color LCD touchscreen with intuitive controls, allowing quick access to all functions. Shortcut buttons further streamline operation, making the device accessible even to less experienced users. With a measurement range of 150 to 1500 microns, the SP-3000 adapts to various clinical scenarios, from evaluating particularly thin to exceptionally thick corneas.
The device features a single measurement mode that automatically averages ten readings for increased reliability. Two fully programmable pachymetry maps are available, allowing up to 25 measurement points per map for a detailed analysis of the corneal surface. A cross-sectional view of the programmed corneal cutting line is also provided for better anatomical visualization.
The SP-3000 also enables intraocular pressure (IOP) correction based on central corneal thickness (CCT). Up to three correction formulas can be integrated, offering flexibility to accommodate clinical preferences. This automatic IOP adjustment is a valuable tool for monitoring conditions such as glaucoma.
Equipped with a 20 MHz probe, the device allows adjustment of the ultrasonic velocity between 1400 and 2000 m/s to suit different ocular structures. It supports two bias modes: percentage (60 to 130%) and microns (-600 to 450), making it adaptable for specific surgical practices, such as incisions or keratotomies.
The unit includes a built-in thermal printer for quick printouts and features an RS-232 port with Z-Modem protocol for data transfer. Lightweight (approximately 4 kg) and energy-efficient, the SP-3000 integrates seamlessly into any clinical environment.
