peqSTAR 96X Universal: Reliable thermal cycler for reproducible PCR
The peqSTAR 96X Universal incorporates thermal technology that guarantees optimal performance for PCR protocols. Thanks to its powerful , long-life Peltier elements, combined with an innovative thermoformed tray, it achieves temperature ramps of up to 5°C per second without overshooting. This fast thermal regulation is essential for applications requiring fast and precise cycles.
Temperature control is provided row by row, ensuring exceptional thermal uniformity of ± 0.2 °C across the entire block. This precision ensures optimal reproducibility of results, even in the most sensitive protocols. The universal 96-well block is compatible with several formats: 0.2 ml tubes, 96-well PCR plates and 0.5 ml flat-top tubes.
Intuitive interface and intelligent control
The peqSTAR 96X Universal user interface is based on a high-resolution TFT touchscreen (800 x 480 px, 16:9, 65,536 colours), allowing smooth navigation and graphical or tabular programming. The device is equipped with an internal memory capable of storing up to 500,000 PCR protocols, organised into customised directories.
Connectivity is provided by 4 USB ports and 1 Ethernet port, compatible with Windows® and Linux systems. The 'peqSTAR Manager' PC software allows protocols to be created, monitored and controlled remotely. For even greater flexibility, a wireless remote control via ZigBee®module is available as an option, with features such as email notifications, MP3 tones and automatic restart after a power failure.
Robust design and certified German quality
Manufactured in Germany to ISO 9001 standards and calibrated to NIST standards, the peqSTAR 96X Universal embodies quality and reliability. It is built to last, with robust components and precision engineering. The standard lid automatically adjusts its height to accommodate different tube and plate formats, ensuring uniform pressure and a secure seal.
The system is also compatible with emulation mode, allowing the thermal characteristics of other cyclers to be replicated to facilitate the transfer of existing protocols. This feature is particularly useful for laboratories migrating to the peqSTAR while retaining their validated methods.
