The peqSTAR XS is a high-precision thermal cycler designed to meet the needs of molecular biology and biochemistry laboratories, whether they are focused on fundamental research or routine diagnostics. This model stands out for its compact size, fast temperature change and reliability, while incorporating technologies to ensure reproducible results.
Optimised thermal performance for PCR
The peqSTAR XS is equipped with eight HTR (High Temperature Range) Peltier elements with Long-Life technology, enabling rapid temperature changes of up to 3°C per second. Each element is individually controlled via Pt1000 sensors, ensuring exceptional thermal homogeneity throughout the block. This precision is essential for critical PCR steps such as denaturation, hybridisation and elongation.
The universal 32-well block is compatible with 32 x 0.2 ml tubes or 16 x 0.5 ml tubes with flat caps. The heated lid prevents condensation and automatically adjusts to the height of the tubes, ensuring optimal sealing and maximum thermal efficiency.
Intuitive interface and connectivity
The peqSTAR XS features a state-of-the-art colour TFT touchscreen, allowing smooth and intuitive navigation between functions. Users can create, edit and run PCR programmes directly from the device or via a standard USB mouse. Ethernet connectivity allows integration into a Windows® or Linux computer network, facilitating the archiving of programmes and GLP reports on an external server.
The device can also be controlled remotely via a PC connected to the network or via a wireless ZigBee connection (optional). USB ports allow data transfer via standard USB sticks, offering virtually unlimited storage capacity for programmes and reports. Dedicated PC software, supplied on CD, allows PCR programmes to be created and managed from a computer.
