Picus: A multi-channel electronic solution for efficient and ergonomic pipetting
The Sartorius Picus multichannel electronic pipette is a precision tool designed to meet the demands of modern laboratories. Available in 8- and 12-channel versions, it allows efficient handling of liquids on microplates while reducing user fatigue thanks to its ergonomic and lightweight design.
It operates on the air displacement principle, with a DC motor, an electronic brake and a piston control system. These features guarantee exceptional accuracy and precision, even during repeated pipetting. The pipetting force is limited to 1.3 N, and tip ejection requires only 3.1 N, which significantly reduces physical effort.
The Picus multichannel offers eight pipetting modes: direct, reverse, manual, multidistribution, dilution, sequential distribution, multiple aspiration and titration. It also includes five functions that can be activated via the ADV button: counting, mixing, excess volume adjustment, automatic distribution and Tracker system. The latter is particularly useful for pipetting on 96- or 384-well microplates, in rows or columns depending on the model.
The backlit dot matrix display makes it easy to read settings and navigate through menus. The adjustment wheel allows quick volume selection, and the function keys offer intuitive programming. Ten memory locations allow you to save your favourite settings.
Optiload spring-loaded tip holders ensure consistent tip attachment on all channels. Multi-channel models are compatible with Optifit and SafetySpace™ tips and can be equipped with replaceable Safe-Cone filters (except models <10 µl). The lower part is autoclavable (except 1200 µl models), and the pipette can be disinfected by UV or with compatible solutions.
