Agilent G1323B – Portable control module for HPLC systems: power, flexibility and autonomy
The G1323B from Agilent Technologies is a portable control module from the 1200 series, specifically designed for local control of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) systems. With this compact and ergonomic device, laboratories can benefit from direct and efficient control without the need for a computer or third-party software, making analyses more flexible, mobile and faster.
The G1323B module provides full access to the configuration and management of connected HPLC modules, whether isocratic, quaternary or binary pumps, autosamplers, thermostatic column compartments or detectors of any type (diode array, fluorescence, RI, etc.). This extensive compatibility ensures seamless integration into existing systems.
Its graphic LCD screen and multifunction keyboard make it easy to navigate between the various menus: method configuration, time programming, analysis start and stop, display of critical parameters (pressure, temperature, flow rate, etc.), and management of complex sequences with multiple injections and automated calibrations.
In terms of safety and compliance, the G1323B meets Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) requirements. It allows method protection, event logging (logbooks), and maintenance planning via EMF (Early Maintenance Feedback) indicators. These features ensure traceability of actions and prevent human error.
The module also supports PCMCIA cards for recording, transferring or backing up methods and sequences between multiple Agilent HPLC systems. This feature is valuable for multi-site laboratories or for standardising procedures.
Another advantage of the G1323B is its ability to display graphical data in real time via its Plot screen, allowing up to three signals (chromatograms, pressure, temperature) to be viewed simultaneously and interpreted using an interactive cursor. These graphs can be exported via an RS-232-connected printer.
The G1323B allows co-operation with Agilent ChemStation, ensuring dual control (local and computerised) of the system without conflict. Although simultaneous use of both interfaces should be avoided for stability reasons, this option offers increased flexibility according to user requirements.
Robust, versatile and intuitive, Agilent's G1323B module is an essential tool for all laboratories using HPLC 1100/1200 systems that want to increase autonomy, accuracy and safety in their analytical operations.
