The Shimadzu Prominence is a fully integrated modular HPLC system designed to deliver superior analytical performance across a wide range of applications. All essential components – pump, column oven, autosampler, detectors, controllers and degassing modules – are designed to work seamlessly within the Prominence system. This integration ensures perfect compatibility, simplified maintenance and increased reliability.
The system supports a variety of techniques such as ultra-fast liquid chromatography (UFLC), preparative chromatography, gel permeation chromatography (GPC), amino acid and organic acid analysis, and ion chromatography. Thanks to its modular design, Prominence can be adapted to specific needs, with customised configurations for the pharmaceutical, food, environmental and chemical industries.
Enhanced analytical performance and reliability
Prominence incorporates major technological improvements, such as optimised control valves, high-sensitivity detection cells, and intelligent functions such as i-PDeA (peak deconvolution) and i-DReC (dynamic range extension). These innovations enable complete separation of unresolved peaks, visualisation of minor components and simultaneous analysis of very low and very high concentrations.
The LC-20AD pump ensures pulsation-free solvent delivery, even at micro flow rates, while the LC-20AB model allows high-pressure binary gradients. The variousSIL-20A/20AC/20AHT autosampler models offer precise and fast injection, with cooling and rinsing functions to minimise cross-contamination. The CTO-20AC/CTO-30A column ovens guarantee precise temperature control, which is essential for stable retention times.
The LabSolutions system, integrated into the Prominence, enables comprehensive data management, enhanced traceability and compliance with regulatory standards such as FDA 21 CFR Part 11. It also offers electronic signature, operation visualisation and automatic PDF report generation functions.
Versatile detection and intelligent remote control
Prominence offers a wide range of detectors: UV-VIS, photodiode array (PDA), fluorescence, refractive index, conductivity and evaporative light scattering (ELSD). The SPD-M30A model, for example, offers exceptional sensitivity thanks to an 85 mm optical cell and thermal stabilisation. The RF-20Axs detector enables ultra-sensitive detection with temperature control, ideal for trace analysis.
The CBM-20A controller enables remote monitoring and control via Ethernet or iPad, facilitating the management of multiple HPLC systems simultaneously. Maintenance data is accessible in real time, and operations can be controlled from an office or another room, optimising laboratory productivity.
