ProStar 345: UV-Visible detector for HPLC
The Varian ProStar 345 is a UV-Visible detector designed to guarantee reproducible analytical results in demanding chromatographic applications. Its ability to operate in single or dual wavelength mode allows for increased flexibility in peak monitoring, with settings tailored to each analysis thanks to a wide wavelength range extending from 190 to 800 nm.
This detector is equipped with standard deuterium and tungsten lamps, ensuring complete coverage of the UV-Visible spectrum. It offers wavelength accuracy of ± 0.1 nm and absorbance linearity better than 1% at 254 nm up to 2.0 AU. Noise is extremely low (< ± 1.0 x 10⁻⁵ AU in single mode), enabling reliable detection of low concentrations.
The user interacts with the device via an ergonomic twelve-key keyboard and a 2-line, 24-character LCD display. Parameters such as wavelength, measurement ranges and programming sequences are easily accessible. The ProStar 345 allows time-dependent wavelength programming with integrated auto-zeroing to optimise multi-component detection in a single pass.
This detector is also compatible with different types of flow cells, ranging from analytical cells to preparative or biocompatible cells. The analogue outputs (CH1 and CH2) can be configured to allow simultaneous monitoring of signals according to ratios or signal suppression (AU1-K*AU2), enhancing the reliability of qualitative and quantitative analyses.
Its compact size (37 × 15 × 47 cm) and weight (18 kg) make it easy to integrate into confined laboratory environments. It operates with standard voltages (100 to 240 V AC, 50/60 Hz), ensuring compatibility in all international environments.
The ProStar 345 is designed for laboratories seeking precision, ease of use and reliability, whether for pharmaceutical, environmental or chemical research.
