PZMIII stereoscopic microscope: optical performance and versatility for biomedical research
The PZMIII from World Precision Instruments is a precision stereoscopic microscope designed to meet the needs of researchers in biology, neuroscience and other biomedical disciplines. It stands out for its optical quality, ease of use and modularity, offering a complete solution for tasks requiring detailed stereoscopic vision and a long working distance.
This model is particularly suitable for delicate operations such as tissue dissection, cell injection, specimen manipulation or electrode inspection. Thanks to its smooth zoom controlled by a spring-loaded wheel, the user can easily switch between 0.67x and 4.5x magnification while maintaining a sharp and stable image. The field of view ranges from Ø34 mm to Ø5 mm, allowing precise observation at different scales.
Ergonomic design and optimal stability
The PZMIII is designed for easy handling and enhanced stability. Its compact size and light weight make it easy to install on various types of stands, including standard stands, articulated arms, and ball-bearing stands. The microscope body can be tilted 45° and rotated 360°, allowing it to be perfectly adapted to the user's posture and the constraints of the working environment.
The interpupillary distance (47–70 mm) and diopter (±5 on each eyepiece) can be adjusted to ensure optimal visual comfort, even during prolonged use. The focusing system is precise and intuitive, with a dedicated knob and fine adjustment available on camera accessories.
Accessories and modularity for a customised configuration
The PZMIII is compatible with two WFH 10x eyepieces and matching eyecups. It can be equipped with additional eyepieces (15x, 20x, 25x) and auxiliary lenses (0.5x) to adjust the total magnification between 3.35x and 56.25x. The working distance can thus be extended to up to 177 mm with the appropriate objectives.
For imaging applications, the PZMIII can be fitted with a C-mount adapter and a colour CCD camera, enabling real-time image capture and analysis. Lighting solutions such as Z-LITE fibre optic light guides or LED rings are also available to optimise sample visibility.
The PZMIII microscope is a high-precision, reliable and adaptable tool designed to meet the demands of modern laboratories. Its robustness, optical quality and wide range of accessories make it a long-term investment for research professionals.
