Digital PCR without compromise: performance, accuracy and simplicity with QIAcuity One, 5plex
The QIAcuity One, 5plex from QIAGEN is a next-generation digital PCR system that revolutionises nucleic acid quantification. Designed to meet the growing demands of laboratories for sensitivity, reproducibility and throughput, this instrument integrates all components of the dPCR workflow into a compact, automated platform.
Microfluidic nanoplate technology for optimal accuracy
Unlike traditional droplet-based systems, the QIAcuity One uses sealed nanoplates with fixed partitions, eliminating size variations and the risk of coalescence. Each well contains approximately 8,500 partitions, allowing random distribution of molecules and absolute quantification according to Poisson's law. This approach ensures inter-laboratory reproducibility and reliable detection of even rare genetic events.
The 5plex model allows simultaneous detection of up to five DNA or RNA targets using five configurable fluorescence channels (FAM, VIC/HEX, TAMRA, ROX, Cy5). This multiplexing capability reduces reagent requirements, speeds up analysis and enables complex studies such as mutation detection, gene expression analysis and pathogen monitoring.
Automated and user-friendly workflow
The QIAcuity One, 5plex offers a simplified user experience with a workflow similar to that of qPCR. After sample preparation (addition of mix, probes and primers), the user inserts the nanoplate into the instrument. The instrument automatically performs partitioning, thermal cycling and imaging, delivering results in approximately two hours for a 96-well plate. The QIAcuity Control Software allows plate configuration, real-time monitoring and data analysis via the QIAcuity Software Suite, accessible via a local network.
