RAPHAEL – Intelligent ventilation for patients and caregivers
The RAPHAEL ventilator from Hamilton Medical embodies technological excellence in respiratory care. Designed to meet the demands of intensive care, subacute care and even home care, it combines clinical performance, adaptability and ease of use.
At the heart of the RAPHAEL system is Adaptive Support Ventilation (ASV) technology, an intelligent ventilation mode that automatically adjusts respiratory parameters based on the patient's lung mechanics. This approach reduces work of breathing, optimises weaning and shortens the length of stay in intensive care. Using a closed-loop algorithm, ASV evaluates each breath, calculates an optimal pattern and adjusts the frequency and inspiratory pressure to achieve the target minute volume.
The RAPHAEL's biphasic design promotes spontaneous breathing in all modes, right from the start of mandatory ventilation. A low-resistance exhalation valve reduces the patient's breathing effort, improving comfort and recovery.
With its ergonomic interface and customisable settings, RAPHAEL is quick to learn and adapt to each facility's specific protocols. It features a clear graphic display, intelligent alarms with plain text messages, and a pre-oxygenation function.
The proximal flow sensor provides accurate flow and pressure data, enabling detailed assessment of respiratory status. The system records up to 1,000 events and provides 1-, 12- or 24-hour trends, as well as configurable dynamic loops.
