Description

CFX Opus 384 Dx: Real-Time 384-Well Thermal Cycler for Regulated Laboratories

The CFX Opus 384 Dx is a real-time thermal cycler designed to meet the needs of laboratories with high sample throughput and strict traceability requirements. Featuring a fixed 384-well block, it enables highly reproducible quantitative PCR (qPCR) reactions with precise temperature control. The system delivers thermal accuracy of ±0.2 °C and uniformity of ±0.3 °C, measured 10 seconds after reaching the target temperature, ensuring consistent results across the entire block.

This thermal cycler uses a Peltier-based heating/cooling system and offers a temperature range of 4 °C to 100 °C, with ramp rates up to 2.5 °C/sec. It includes a programmable thermal gradient function (1–24 °C), ideal for assay development and optimization.

The CFX Opus 384 Dx supports multiplex analysis of up to four targets per well, using an optical system equipped with five filtered LEDs for excitation and five photodiodes for detection. It can detect a single copy of human genomic DNA and supports a dynamic range spanning 10 orders of magnitude.

The instrument is compatible with CFX Maestro Dx SE software, compatible with Windows 10 (64-bit), designed for data management in regulated laboratory settings. The software includes features such as role-based user access, electronic signatures, audit trail reports, and powerful data analysis tools, including gene expression, allelic discrimination, melt curve analysis, and endpoint analysis. Data can be exported in multiple formats: Excel, CSV, XML, RDML, plain text, and customizable PDFs.

The CFX Opus 384 Dx is LIMS-compatible, can be connected to multiple cyclers in the CFX Opus family via software, and features a network interface for automation workflows. It is also equipped with an adjustable touchscreen display and email notification functionality upon run completion.

With its design optimized for connectivity and regulatory compliance, the CFX Opus 384 Dx integrates seamlessly into diagnostic or research laboratories requiring stringent data control. Its ability to connect multiple instruments and its intuitive user interface promote reproducible, streamlined, and traceable workflows. It is an ideal choice for labs seeking to combine high analytical performance, large sample capacity, and rigorous data management.

The CFX Opus 384 Dx is a real-time PCR system tailored to optimize clinical and research laboratory workflows while ensuring regulatory compliance. With its compact footprint (33 x 56 x 36 cm) and lightweight design (22 kg), the instrument is well suited for space-constrained environments.

Designed to integrate efficiently into the daily routine of regulated laboratories, the CFX Opus 384 Dx offers USB and Ethernet connectivity, a tiltable touchscreen interface, and automated email notifications upon run completion.
