The Megafuge 1.0R by Heraeus is a refrigerated centrifuge designed to meet the rigorous demands of modern laboratories. It offers great versatility, accommodating up to 48 blood collection tubes or 12 conical cell culture tubes (50 ml). The Megafuge 1.0R is equipped with a frequency-controlled induction motor, ensuring rapid acceleration and braking while providing a long service life. This maintenance-free motor eliminates the need for carbon brush replacement, thereby reducing dust build-up and ensuring smooth, uninterrupted operation.

One of the key features of the Megafuge 1.0R is its innovative base material, "Centricast," which significantly reduces noise and vibrations, offering exceptionally quiet operation. This centrifuge is equipped with an environmentally friendly cooling system, using CFC-free refrigerant R 134a, in compliance with global environmental safety standards.

Ease of use is a priority with the Megafuge 1.0R, thanks to the MEGACONTROL II microprocessor controller. This control system allows for precise and reproducible results, with intuitive digital displays and simplified control buttons that make operation easy. The centrifuge can display the current Relative Centrifugal Force (RCF) at the push of a button, with options to preset the RCF value and use a quick-run function for short spins. For delicate samples, the soft-brake function ensures gentle deceleration, with customizable brake cut-off times.

Safety is paramount in the design of the Megafuge 1.0R. The rotor chamber is housed in a protective casing and is equipped with an automatic lid lock and safety lock, meeting all international safety standards. The centrifuge also includes a continuous digital diagnostic system that constantly monitors the device's status and immediately alerts the user if any issues arise, ensuring reliable and safe operation.

In terms of versatility, the Megafuge 1.0R offers a wide range of accessories to support various applications. Its 4-place swinging bucket rotor can be used with several support systems, including round buckets with aerosol-tight caps and supports for microplates and rectangular buckets. Additionally, the sealed rotor option ensures that aerosols are safely contained, making it ideal for working with infectious samples. The Centri-Lab® system, a flexible and autoclavable rack system, further extends the capabilities of this centrifuge.

For high-speed microliter centrifugation, the Megafuge 1.0R can be equipped with an aerosol-tight 18-place microliter rotor, capable of reaching speeds up to 15,000 RPM. This rotor comes with adapter sets to accommodate a range of standard microliter tubes, ensuring safe and efficient processing.

Heraeus also offers safety trolleys for the Megafuge 1.0R, available in two heights, which can be used as under-bench models or mobile tabletop units, providing additional storage space and flexibility in laboratory setups.
