Description

Pure Water Production in Laboratories: The arium® 61316 System

The Sartorius arium® 61316 is a reverse osmosis system designed to meet the needs of laboratories requiring high-quality purified water. This device produces water free from impurities, adhering to the most rigorous scientific standards. Its operation is based on a multi-stage filtration process, including a pre-treatment cartridge and two reverse osmosis modules working in parallel to optimize treatment efficiency.

One of the key features of the arium® 61316 is its automatic regulation system, which adjusts water quality according to user-configured parameters. The feed water is first pre-filtered, removing particles and contaminants before passing through the reverse osmosis membranes. This dual barrier ensures a retention rate of over 99% for microorganisms and particulate impurities, as well as effective removal of ions and other contaminants.

The system features a pressurized tank that stores treated water and distributes it immediately as needed. A safety solenoid valve prevents uncontrolled flow, ensuring safe usage. The integrated electronic display informs the user in real-time about the conductivity and resistivity of the produced water, allowing optimal process control. If water quality falls below defined thresholds, an alert is automatically displayed.

One advantage of this system is its automatic flushing, which prevents residue buildup on the reverse osmosis membranes. After each production cycle, a cleaning sequence is initiated to extend component lifespan and maintain consistent water quality. This mechanism minimizes maintenance interventions and ensures reliable long-term water production.

The installation of the arium® 61316 is simple and adaptable to the specific needs of laboratories. It can be bench-mounted or wall-mounted, depending on available space. Its quiet operation and compact design allow for easy integration into any scientific environment.

The device is designed to be used exclusively with consumables and accessories provided by Sartorius. Regular maintenance, including the replacement of pre-treatment cartridges and reverse osmosis modules when necessary, is recommended.

In terms of performance, the arium® 61316 can produce up to 16 liters of purified water per hour, with a recovery rate of approximately 55%, depending on the quality of the feed water and ambient temperature. Its filtration system allows for water with adjustable conductivity between 10 and 80 µS/cm, suitable for various laboratory applications.

This system meets the strictest quality standards and integrates seamlessly into a research or analysis environment requiring pure, contaminant-free water. Its robust design and efficiency make it an indispensable tool for ensuring the reliability of experiments and scientific analyses.
