Büchi Rotavapor R-210: A Reliable Evaporator for Controlled Distillations
Rotary evaporation is an essential technique in laboratories, particularly for solvent distillation and sample concentration. The Büchi Rotavapor R-210 meets these needs with a robust design and intuitive operation, ensuring optimal safety for both the user and the product.
The Rotavapor R-210 is designed to provide an optimized distillation process. Its powerful motor offers a rotation range of 20 to 280 revolutions per minute. It easily adapts to various glassware configurations, enabling precise and reproducible results. The continuous vapor duct prevents cross-contamination, and its quick disassembly facilitates cleaning. Heating is managed by the B-491 bath, which can operate with both water and oil, with a temperature range of 20 to 180°C. Thanks to its compact size, the temperature rises quickly, optimizing work time. The absence of fixed wiring between the bath and the evaporator offers great flexibility during filling and draining.
The device allows precise control of vacuum and temperature when paired with Büchi vacuum controllers V-850 or V-855. These accessories ensure optimal pressure management, providing gentle and efficient evaporation. Compatibility with the Büchi V-700 vacuum pump enhances chemical resistance while maintaining quiet operation. The R-215 model, a variant of the R-210, features an additional display for monitoring vapor temperature and rotation speed, making it a preferred choice for processes requiring more rigorous control.
Safety is a central element in the design of this rotary evaporator. An automatic lifting system for the flask is integrated to remove it from the heating bath in case of a power outage, preventing sample overheating and reducing the risk of thermal degradation. The use of a transparent protective screen, available as an option, provides additional safety against splashes and accidental flask breakage. To minimize risks associated with glass handling, Büchi also offers a P+G coating, combining plastic and glass, which protects glass parts from impacts and splashes in case of breakage.
The Rotavapor R-210 also stands out for its modularity and compatibility with a wide range of accessories, allowing customization according to laboratory needs. It can be paired with a V-700 vacuum pump for precise pressure control, as well as the B-741 chiller, which provides efficient cooling while reducing water consumption. The V-850 or V-855 vacuum controller can be added to automatically regulate pressure and optimize distillation.
Various glassware configurations are available, allowing the device to be adapted to different laboratory applications, whether for standard distillations, handling low-boiling solvents, or processes requiring reflux.
