RT-6100: Patient Comfort and Examination Accuracy
The Nidek RT-6100 has been designed to offer a balance between medical performance and patient comfort. With its wide 40° field of view, it recreates natural examination conditions, improving the reliability of results. The silent and continuous scrolling of the lenses helps reduce patient discomfort and fatigue, while the half-pupillary distance adjustment ensures a personalised fit. The integrated LED lighting facilitates near vision testing, ensuring optimal lighting conditions. The system also features lenses with anti-smear and anti-fog coatings, as well as a headrest and removable cheek pads for easy hygiene and maintenance.
An Intuitive Console for a Smooth Examination
The RT-6100's control console is a major asset for the user. Featuring a 10.4-inch colour LCD touchscreen that can be tilted 180°, it can be used by both the practitioner and the patient for near vision tests. Navigation is made easy by an ergonomic central dial, incorporating Sphere, Cylinder and Axis functions for smooth switching between measurement modes. The most commonly used optotypes can be saved as favourites, while the built-in help function describes the method for each test to assist the practitioner. Refraction data transfer is seamless thanks to LAN, RS-232C and WLAN (optional) compatibility and possible integration with other Nidek devices such as autorefractometers, pachymeters and the Tonoref™ III.
Flexibility and Clinical Integration
The RT-6100 can be combined with the SSC-100 display screen to form a compact subjective refraction unit: the TS-610 system. This configuration allows the same LCD screen to be used for testing distance and near vision, reducing patient accommodation and maintaining measurement accuracy. The device also offers the option of performing specific tests such as contrast sensitivity, binocular assessment and stereopsis, thus meeting the needs of patients who have undergone cataract or refractive surgery. Its small footprint, less than 0.5 m², makes it easy to integrate into confined spaces while ensuring optimal ergonomics for the practitioner. The RT-6100 is therefore suitable for both private practices and hospital settings, offering a reliable and comprehensive tool for refraction management.
