Ventilator SAVe - Good Condition

Brand: AutoMedx

The SAVe (Simplified Automated Ventilator) by AutoMedx is a compact, portable ventilator designed for emergency pre-hospital ventilation. Featuring analog, software-free operation, it delivers steady, continuous mechanical ventilation for over 5 hours on battery power. Easy to use and highly durable, it provides a fixed tidal volume with a constant respiratory rate, ideal for high-stress field situations. It connects to either a mask or an endotracheal tube and requires no compressed gas source. Designed for military and emergency use, the SAVe ensures safety, effectiveness, and autonomy in critical environments.

Description

SAVe – Simplified, Portable Emergency Ventilation for Field Interventions

In emergency care environments where responsiveness and reliability are vital, the SAVe ventilator from AutoMedx offers an innovative solution developed specifically for caregivers with limited respiratory training. This device provides automated ventilation for adult patients in respiratory distress, such as during CPR or episodes of acute respiratory failure, while ensuring ease of use.

Designed to operate without a compressed gas source, the SAVe uses a battery-powered internal pump to deliver ambient air. It provides reliable mechanical ventilation with pre-set tidal volume and respiratory rate, suitable for adults over 45 kg. Two models are available: the 550x10 (550 mL at 10 breaths per minute) and the 600x10 (600 mL at 10 breaths per minute), each with a battery life of 5.75 and 5.5 hours respectively. These durations can be extended with external power.

One of the SAVe’s major advantages is its autonomy—it frees the caregiver’s hands to attend to other injuries or patients. It is equipped with pressure sensors that monitor the patient’s respiratory cycles and triggers visual and audible alarms in case of disconnection, obstruction, leakage, or excessive peak inspiratory pressure. These alarms can be partially or fully muted if needed, such as in silent military operations, although continuous monitoring remains essential.

Built for intense field use, the SAVe is compact (6.25 x 6.75 x 2.5 inches), lightweight (3.1 lbs), and can be used with either a mask or an endotracheal tube. Its patient circuit includes a bidirectional valve that allows for exhalation, and a CO₂ detector (EtCO₂) can be added to assess ventilation effectiveness.

Maintenance is minimal: wipe with a lint-free cloth, replace the debris filter after each use, and perform a visual inspection. The ventilator should never be submerged or exposed to extreme temperatures. It must be recharged regularly depending on storage conditions and tested every 6–12 months based on usage.

The SAVe is a self-contained, reliable, and intuitive ventilation solution designed for critical environments. It ensures consistent and safe respiratory support, enabling emergency teams to act effectively with minimal training and resources.
