Memmert SF260plus – Hot air steriliser for laboratories
The SF260plus from Memmert is a hot air steriliser designed to meet the strict requirements of modern laboratories, whether for research, production or quality control. Its main function is to ensure effective sterilisation of instruments, glassware, metal containers and other equipment, surpassing simple disinfection processes. Thanks to its optimised design and precise control, this device delivers consistent, reproducible results while minimising the risk of error.
One of the key features of this model is its Setpoint Wait function, which separates the temperature rise phase from the sterilisation phase. This means that the cycle countdown only starts once the predefined temperature has been reached at all measuring points. This ensures that the entire chamber volume is sterilised uniformly, eliminating any areas that may be insufficiently heated. Combined with its two Pt100 sensors compliant with DIN Class A, this technology ensures increased safety and consistent reliability.
The internal design of the SF260plus has been optimised for thermal efficiency. Its stainless steel chamber, reinforced with deep ribbing, incorporates a heating system distributed over four sides. This configuration promotes even heat distribution, reducing thermal gradients and ensuring complete sterilisation. In addition, the silent air turbine ensures forced and uniform circulation of hot air, with fine adjustment possible in 10% increments for each programme segment.
Versatility of use is another major advantage. The SF260plus allows you to adjust numerous parameters such as temperature (in °C or °F), fan speed, air flap position, and programme duration and sequencing. These programmes can be created, managed and transferred using the AtmoCONTROL software, facilitating integration into demanding work protocols. In the event of a power failure, the current programme is saved, preventing any loss of data or cycle efficiency.
From a safety perspective, Memmert has integrated several levels of protection. The AutoSAFETY system continuously monitors the temperature, triggering a shutdown of the heating system if the setpoint is exceeded or deviates from the setpoint. An independent mechanical limiter also acts as a last resort to cut off the power supply in the event of excessive overheating. A visual and audible alarm immediately alerts the user in the event of a problem, while a self-diagnostic system facilitates fault detection and resolution.
With a volume of 256 litres, the SF260plus can accommodate up to 9 levels of shelves, each supporting up to 20 kg of load, for a total of 300 kg in the chamber. Its perfectly insulated stainless steel door, which can be locked by compression, limits heat loss, optimising energy consumption. Maintenance is also simplified thanks to a smooth, easy-to-clean interior design.
This hot air steriliser combines thermal performance, precise control, enhanced safety and flexibility of use. Its robustness and functionality make it ideal for daily use in scientific and industrial environments where reliable and reproducible sterilisation is essential.
