Memmert SF450 – Hot air steriliser for laboratory applications
The Memmert SF450 is a hot air steriliser designed to provide reliable and uniform sterilisation of instruments and equipment in laboratories. Intended for environments where sterilisation is essential, it complies with standards and regulations for medical devices, ensuring consistent and compliant performance.
With a net volume of 449 litres and a maximum load capacity of 300 kg, the SF450 features a durable and easy-to-clean stainless steel chamber. The internal surfaces are reinforced with embossed ribs and a heating system protected on four sides to maintain a consistent temperature, even with large loads. This design not only ensures optimum energy efficiency but also uniform sterilisation, which is essential in laboratory protocols.
One of the major advantages of the SF450 is the SetpointWAIT function. This intelligent device allows the sterilisation programme to start only when the set temperature has been reached at all measuring points. This guarantees that each cycle meets the conditions required for safe and reproducible sterilisation. Coupled with a high-precision Pt100 sensor that complies with DIN class A, this system ensures fine and stable temperature control.
The temperature setting range extends from +20 to +250 °C, with an adjustment accuracy of 0.1 °C up to 99.9 °C and 0.5 °C above that. The multifunctional digital PID controller, equipped with a high-definition TFT colour display, provides intuitive access to operating parameters. Users can customise the temperature, fan speed, air flap position and programme duration, and even configure time zones and summer/winter modes.
The SF450 benefits from a high-performance ventilation system with a silent turbine, adjustable in 10% steps, ensuring efficient forced air circulation. The intake of preheated fresh air is electronically controlled, while an exhaust duct with a limiting valve ensures control of the internal atmosphere.
For safety, the unit is equipped with double protection against overheating: an adjustable electronic device and a mechanical limiter that cuts off the heating at approximately 20°C above the nominal temperature. A self-diagnostic system also allows any faults to be detected and analysed quickly.
The SF450 has two electropolished stainless steel grilles and insulated doors with two-point locking. The unit is mounted on lockable castors for easy installation. Connectivity is provided via an Ethernet port for use with AtmoCONTROL software for data monitoring and organisation.
Its robust design, precise temperature control and multiple programming options make it an essential tool for laboratories, hospital departments and any facility requiring rigorous sterilisation control.
