MyiQ™ Real-Time Detection System: Precision and Reliability for Everyday Use
The MyiQ™ from Bio-Rad is a single-channel real-time PCR fluorescence detection system designed for molecular biology laboratories seeking reliable results with a streamlined setup. Specifically developed for the detection of green fluorescent dyes such as FAM and SYBR Green I, the MyiQ provides an efficient solution for beginner users or labs requiring an additional system to manage increasing workloads.
The MyiQ system connects directly to the iCycler® thermal cycler, taking advantage of precise Peltier-based temperature control and gradient mode for optimized amplification conditions across the entire plate. It supports sample volumes ranging from 15 to 100 µl in a standard 96-well plate format.
Its optical system, based on a tungsten-halogen lamp, delivers effective excitation in the 475–495 nm range and fluorescence detection in the 515–545 nm range, making it ideally suited for SYBR Green I and FAM applications. The MyiQ is capable of detecting a single copy of the IL-1β gene in human genomic DNA, ensuring high sensitivity across a dynamic range of up to 9 orders of magnitude.
The included software, compatible with Windows XP Professional, enables comprehensive data analysis including standard curve quantification, melt curve analysis, relative gene expression analysis (ΔCₜ), normalized expression (ΔΔCₜ), and direct export to Microsoft Excel, Word, or PowerPoint. Up to five standard curves can be applied per plate for the simultaneous analysis of multiple targets.
The system features USB 2.0 connectivity, compact dimensions (29.2 x 58.4 x 38.7 cm), and a weight of 17.6 kg, making it easy to integrate into any laboratory bench setup. It complies with IEC and CE standards, ensuring safe and standardized operation.
