High-performance sterilisation with the SN160plus from Memmert
The SN160plus steriliser from Memmert has been designed to offer a complete alternative to conventional disinfection by guaranteeing hot air sterilisation in accordance with the regulatory requirements for medical devices. This model allows operating temperatures ranging from 20°C to 250°C with a control accuracy of 0.1°C up to 99.9°C and 0.5°C above that. Thanks to a redundant Pt100 class A sensor system in a 4-wire configuration, it ensures continuous and secure temperature control. In the event of a sensor failure, the other sensor automatically takes over for maximum reliability.
At the heart of this device is its TwinDISPLAY digital control interface equipped with two high-definition TFT colour screens. This intelligent PID system allows precise programming of sterilisation parameters, including temperature, duration, air valve position and automatic adjustment to summer time. SetpointWAIT mode ensures that the cycle only starts when the target temperature is reached at all measuring points, enabling scientifically validated and reproducible sterilisation. HeatBALANCE technology adjusts the heat distribution between the upper and lower heating circuits in real time for perfect thermal uniformity.
Technology designed for safety and compliance
The SN160plus incorporates a comprehensive set of safety features designed to protect the operator, the samples and the equipment itself. It includes a mechanical temperature limiter in accordance with DIN 12880, a TWW overtemperature monitor or an adjustable TWB limiter depending on the class selected, and the AutoSAFETY system. The latter continuously monitors temperature deviations from the setpoint and triggers a visual and audible alarm if the setpoint is exceeded. In the event of critical overheating, the heating is automatically switched off.
A self-diagnostic system detects technical faults in real time to enable rapid intervention. The power supply is secured by a backup memory that retains the programming parameters even in the event of a power failure. Documentation is recorded automatically, simplifying traceability procedures in a regulated environment. Sterilisation can be programmed via the AtmoCONTROL software.
Capacity, durability and ease of use
The SN160plus steriliser offers a useful volume of 161 litres and can accommodate up to eight internal racks for a maximum total load of 210 kg. The electropolished stainless steel interior, reinforced with pressed ribs, has an integrated four-sided heating system that ensures even heat distribution. The double-locking door ensures secure closure and a perfect seal. Natural convection and the admission of preheated fresh air via an electronic valve maintain a stable atmosphere inside the chamber.
The appliance can be installed in environments up to 2000 m above sea level, with ambient temperatures between +5 °C and +40 °C. Its compact design, textured steel casing and small footprint make it a wise choice for laboratories seeking to combine performance, reliability and ease of use.
